The Funding Opportunities Catalog is provided as a resource for CARPD Members to keep you all apprised of the most current and comprehensive information on competitive funding programs.

Highlights for this month include:
Sustainability and Climate Action
- The Environmental Protection Agency is continuing to accept applications for Community Change Grants until 11/21/2024 or funding is exhausted. Funding appears to be going quickly, so starting an application as soon as possible is highly recommended.
- The Sustainable Forestry Initiative has released applications for its Urban Forest Improvement Grant Program. Applications are ongoing until 5/30/2027 or until funds are exhausted. Funds can be used for benchmarks and assessments for urban or community forests in alignment with the organization's Sustainability Standards.
- The Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Program is accepting application on an ongoing basis for a variety of vehicle types.
- The Environmental Protection Agency has announced their Brownfield Grants for the Revolving Loan Funds Grants, Assessment Grants, and Cleanup Grants. Applications for all three grant programs are due 11/14/2024.
Emergency Response and Disaster Mitigation
- The U.S. Forest Service plans to announce funding through the Community Wildfire Defense Grant in November this year. This program provides funding to communities at risk from wildfires to develop or revise their community wildfire protection plans and carry out projects within those plans.
Water Quality and Conservation
- U.S. Bureau of Reclamation's Water and Energy Efficiency Grants (WEEG) program is currently accepting applications due 10/30/2024. WEEG provides funding for projects that result in quantifiable water savings, implement renewable energy components, and support broader sustainability benefits.
Housing and Homelessness
- The California Department of Housing and Community Development (CalHCD) announced its calendar for upcoming funding opportunities. The following are anticipated to be released later this year or early next year: Homekey+; Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities; Multifamily Housing Program; Infill Infrastructure Grant Program; Farmworker Housing Grant Program; HOME Investment Partnership Program; and Emergency Solutions Grant.
Public Safety and Criminal Justice
- The Organization Wellness Program application has opened and is being accepted on a rolling basis. This is a non-monetary fund that provides resources and services for agencies creating or enhancing wellness programs.
