Position Summary:

Under direction of the Facilities Manager; organizes, supervises, coordinates, trains, assigns, reviews and motivates fulltime and part-time maintenance staff involved in operation and maintenance functions of District facilities, buildings, and certain park features found within the Cordova Recreation & Park District; oversees day-to-day facilities maintenance services and activities of assigned area; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; coordinates assigned activities with other divisions and outside agencies; maintains effective public relations and customer service providing information and projecting positive image to the community-at-large.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

The Facilities Supervisor is the second level supervisory class within the Facilities series. This classification provides supervision for the Division of Facilities within the Park Services Department and exercises a broad range of authority over complex facility and building maintenance programs and certain park features with multiple funding sources. The Facilities Supervisor is distinguished from the Facilities Manager in that the latter provides leadership and direction for the entire Facilities Division and has greater responsibility, autonomy, and discretion with initiating, planning, scheduling and completing a wide variety of maintenance programs. The Facilities Supervisor is proficient in developing, practicing, and sharing successful California building and maintenance processes with staff and public; is knowledgeable and articulate in understanding issues, policies, and trends relating to maintaining facilities; and develops well-written proposals, reports and spreadsheets concerning Facilities budgets, expenditures, and projects.
