This year, CARPD is proud to be a co-sponsor of AB 817 (Pacheco) with the League of California Cities (CalCities), Urban Counties of California (UCC), Rural County Representative of California (RCRC), and the California Association of Counties (CSAC). AB 817 will serve to remove barriers to entry to civic leadership and we appreciate your support.
In recent years, CARPD and its member agencies have had a measure of success advocating for our Districts at the State Capitol. Your voices have been heard regarding youth sports, day care, day camps, and pandemic relief funds, just to name a few examples. Yet, there is a lot we can still do to serve our fellow members and our respective communities....so let's keep that momentum going!
CARPD Executive Director Matthew Duarte was invited to testify before the State Assembly Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism, & Internet Media, at a hearing on March 17, 2021. The topic of discussion was the Safe and Equitable Reopening of Sports.
