The Funding Opportunities Report is provided as a resource for CARPD Members to keep you all apprised of the most current and comprehensive information on competitive funding programs.

Highlights for this month include:

Hazard Mitigation

  • The California Fire Safe Council has announced the release of the 2025 State Fire Capacity Grant Program. Applications are due 8/31/2025 by 11:59 p.m. PDT. Funding can be used for hazardous fuels reduction and maintenance, Community Wildfire Protection Plan and other wildfire mitigation plans and assessments, and wildfire prevention and mitigation education and outreach.
  • The Economic Development Administration has announced the Disaster Supplemental Grant Program for areas that received major disaster declarations because of hurricanes, wildfires, severe storms and flooding, tornadoes, or other natural disasters in 2023-2024. The program provides funding to support economic recovery in these affected areas. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for Readiness and Implementation projects. For the Industry Transformation Path, applications are due 3/3/2026.

Sustainability and Climate Action

  •  (NEW!) The Communities in Charge program is now open and accepting applications. This wave of funding is focused specifically on multi-family housing and related EV charger installation projects. Applications are due 1/9/2026.
  • CalRecycle has announced another round of funding for the Tire-Derived Aggregate (TDA) Program. Eligible projects include: Mechanically Stabilized TDA, Low Impact Development, Lightweight fill, Vibration mitigation, and Landfill application projects. Applications are due 7/17/2025, 10/16/2025, and 1/13/2026.
  • The California Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project (CALeVIP) has released the Fast Charge California Projects funding opportunity. This opportunity funds the installation and management of DC Fast Chargers for projects that are considered ready-to-build. Applications are due 9/30/2025.
  • The Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Program is accepting applications on an ongoing for a variety of vehicle types.
