Honoring Outgoing Board Member - Nick Schouten

Honoring Outgoing CARPD Board Member - Nick Schouten

At the recent meeting of the CARPD Board of Directors, the Board voted to bestow one of its highest honors and recognize outgoing Board Secretary, Nick Schouten, as an Honorary Member of CARPD. Mr. Schouten recently ended decades of service on the CARPD Board when he declined to run for re-election.

Nick Schouten has been a Member of the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District Board of Directors for 47 of the 52 years the District has existed. Mr. Schouten’s advocacy and experience has also guided Valley-Wide from one park to nearly 100 Parks and Community Centers, an aquatic facility and golf course and miles of streetscapes over an 800-square-mile area with 275,000 residents.

Please join CARPD (and a number of other distinguished organizations and dignitaries as shown in the photo below) in thanking Nick for his committment and devotion to CARPD and its mission of advocating, educating, and serving California’s recreation and park districts!
