CARPD: Last Call for Letters in Support of AB 817
April 20, 2023
A CALL TO ACTION
Next week, AB 817 (Pacheco) is scheduled for hearing before the Local Government Committee of the California State Assembly. As such, this is the last call for member letters in support of the bill! Below you can find the template support letter:
AB 817 Support Letter TemplatePlease update the letter with your District's information and send to mduarte@capri-jpa.org no later than close of business tomorrow, April 21st, so we may timely submit your letter to the Committee.
BACKGROUND:
CARPD is proud to be a co-sponsor of AB 817 along with the League of California Cities (CalCities), Urban Counties of California (UCC), Rural County Representative of California (RCRC), and the California Association of Counties (CSAC).
AB 817 will serve to remove barriers to entry for appointed and elected offices by allowing non-decision-making legislative bodies (i.e. Board Committees) to participate in two-way remote teleconferencing without posting at their location.
