Position Summary: 

Under direction of the Park Services Superintendent, organizes, supervises, coordinates, trains, assigns, reviews, and motivates full-time and part-time staff involved in operation and maintenance functions of the park and recreational facilities found within the Cordova Recreation & Park District (CRPD); oversees day-to-day park maintenance services and activities of assigned area; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; coordinates assigned activities with other divisions and outside agencies; and maintains effective public relations and customer service providing information and projecting positive image to the community-at-large.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

The Park Services Supervisor II is the second level supervisory class within the Park Services Supervisor series. This classification provides leadership and direction for an entire division of Park Services and exercises a broad range of authority over complex park maintenance programs with multiple funding sources. The Parks Services Supervisor II is distinguished from the Park Supervisor I in that the former oversees and supervises a major organizational unit and has greater responsibility, autonomy, and discretion with initiating, planning, scheduling, and completing a wide variety of park and/or facility maintenance programs.  The Park Services Supervisor II has expertise in developing, practicing, and sharing successful California landscape culture and maintenance processes with staff and public; is knowledgeable and articulate in understanding issues, policies, and trends relating to maintaining parks and facilities; and develops well-written proposals, reports and spreadsheets concerning Park Services budgets, expenditures, and projects.
